TRYPSIN IV is one of our low endotoxin preparations specifically tailored for use as a reagent for cell and tissue culture applications. TRYPSIN IV comprises both trypsin (EC 3.4.21.4) and chymotrypsin (EC 3.4.21.1) enzymatic activities. Available low-endotoxin alternatives with reduced chymotrypsin activity include TRYPSIN II and TRYPSIN 1:250.
TRYPSIN IV is provided in powder format, and can be processed either in irradiated, or non-irradiated forms suitable for direct use in culture media. Applications
As a low-endotoxin preparation, TRYPSIN IV is highly valued in vaccine development, cell dissociation, cell harvesting, and similar applications. TRYPSIN IV is used to digest cell-attachment proteins in a measured manner; aiding in separating cells from each other, their extracellular matrix, or from the surface to which they are attached without damaging the cells themselves.
